About Ian

Since he was five, Ian van der Walt knew this world had only one place for him. As soon as he could decode images on a screen, he only wanted to be a filmmaker. He spent his childhood obsessively watching films and pulling them apart in his mnd, hungry to learn their secrets. Barely a summer would go by without him producing a short film with his brother and his dad's camera.

Once he graduated school, he immediately set towards earning a Bachelors of Arts in Motion Picture Medium at AFDA (Johannesburg). This has given him insight into the workings of the industry as well as hands on experience in the areas of Script writing and development. This background has cultivated in him an impeccable understanding of screenplay structure and commercial storytelling, as well as flexibility and hunger for experimentation.

Eager for new challenges and learning opportunities, there's not much he says no to.
